Our friend over at Blazing Cat Fur has dug up another gem of leftist stupidity. The left’s answer to all of the questions regarding the threat of Islamic fundamentalism? Nope, doesn’t exist. It’s just some made up problem, most likely by those vile Conservatives. But you really should watch out for those Christian fundamentalists. Some actually committed the terrorist act of sending out a pro-life pamphlets one time.
That’s right, tens of thousands have died in the past decade from Islamic fundamentalists attacks, and the left is saying watch out for those Christians because they got a pamphlet. I know that many members of the left are very intelligent people, but why they continue to bury their head in the sand, anytime someone mentions Islam is beyond me.

I watched this earlier Friday from your link to BCF’s site. What is interesting is that M. Coren is planning to have David Menzies and Marilyn Churley on again without, as BTF put it, the latter’s “her fellow Islamofascist Apologist Krisna Saravanmutta President of the York Federation of Students.”
I mean really, if you’re going to go on a “no holds barred, right wing talk show” and not do your homework prior, what did Krisna expect? But, then again, what do universities really expect from their students in terms of critical thinking these days? Has the bar sunk so low that YU is proud to allow representatives such as he, to demonstrate to the Nation, that he is the future product of the collegiate, without some form of comment, or even a rebuke? Or perhaps, such a critique has been chilled and trumped by the multi-cultural Human Rights fuelled card?
Another attempt at Taqiyya dispelled by truth.

Yes, I know…spitting on Muslims (especially the children) is a good (and fun) preventative measure to ensure future attacks won’t occur (as they have, so very very often in Canada), but that’s what you good Christians are for. That’s *your* job.

You don’t have to look too far in the recent months if you want to compare impolite behaviour from Muslims groups compared to other organizations: Krisna Saravanmutta was fined for his participation in anti-semitic activity for equating Zionism with racism; and the 3 Jan 09 pro-Palestininian rally in Toronto had supporters there chanting “Jews to the oven;” and in the later “anti-Israel” demonstrations in several Canadian cities, there featured people giving the Nazi salute and circulating the medieval anti-Semitic libel that Jews drink blood.

There was no point in the article that I stated the attacks were occuring only in Canada. And I don’t recall ever hearing of a Christian spitting on a Muslim in Canada. You could be sure that your leftist media would report that hate crime around the world.
This is only an issue of Muslim extremists, though in it’s rabid defense of these Islamicists, the left quickly resorts to Christian bashing. Rather than trying dispute the fact that Muslim fundamentalism is a threat, you resort to claiming that Christians wish to denigrate all Muslims.
The left is always quick to stifle discussion with claims of racism and homophobia. Perhaps one day they will wish to have a discussion without automatically equating any dissent with deep seated intolerace.

Orwell was writing in a media culture that was completely controlled by the political and business elite and for a readership that was decently educated. Unfortunately, he ended up writing how to guides for the elite to keep doing what they’ve always done. Bamboozle.
Now, they’re capitalising on most people’s basic scientific illiteracy (I’m astounded by the number of people who don’t understand the concept of falsification) and the information overload that prevents people from investigating claims on their own and coming to their own conclusions.
It’s brilliant, really.
I’ve never made any claims about Climate Change/Global Warming (although the basic principle…the greenhouse effect, is pretty much unassailable). I am highly amused by all the false claims being accepted as truth, though.
